CTL Teaching Evaluations

The Center for Teaching and Learning provides custom online teaching evaluations for the Stanford community.

Our online forms allow your students to anonymously and individually provide feedback about how your course is going. You can request your evaluation online, choosing from two basic templates: the short form focuses on qualitative feedback that helps you focus on quick improvements to a course in process, while the long form more closely resembles the mix of qualitative and quantitative questions found on the end-of-quarter evaluations administered by the Registrar. Evaluations can also be tailored to address specific needs for your course - feel free to contact us if you'd like to design your own evaluation or modify one of our pre-existing forms.

Online forms preserve class time but can suffer from low response rates. To achieve a high response rate, we encourage you to send reminders to your students, and to let them know that their feedback is important to you. We recommend that you give your students a maximum of one week to fill out the evaluation.

At the end of the evaluation period, you will receive a PDF document with the verbatim, anonymous responses. CTL consultation is also available to help you interpret the feedback and put it to good use in your teaching.
