	Current About People Schedules Conference Contact	About the Workshop This workshop reconceives the study of minority literature and culture in the context of social diversity. A goal of the workshop is to contribute to the ongoing reconfiguration of American literary and cultural studies by situating the concerns of "minority" authors and scholars within a hemispheric and global context. Discussions move beyond conventional notions of the constructedness of identity and knowledge in order to render detailed accounts of the materiality of constructed identities as they are lived, felt, and related to social processes. Through presentations by graduate students, post-doctorates, and faculty from Stanford and other universities, the workshop engages issues that interest scholars with a number of disciplinary and affiliative backgrounds. This workshop is funded jointly by the Stanford Humanities Center and the Research Institute for Comparative Studies in Race and Ethnicity and is a project of the Future of Minority Studies Research Project.
