If the sprinklers are going on at a bad time, it is nice to know how to control them. There are two separate systems, one for each side of the house.
Porch Side
The sprinklers on the west side are control by a small box on the southwest corner of the house. There are three dials:
- A dial to control the days of a two week cycle (M-S-S)on which you wish the sprinklers to go on.
- A dial to control the hour of the day (1-24) at which you want the sprinklers to start
- A weird dial with little subdials to control the duration of each of the 7 sprinkler heads
- Most Importantly, if you just want to shut the sprinklers off, there is an on/off switch on the bottom right
- As a general note, stanford groundskeepers may be messing around with things, so keep a heads up for changes in the schedule.
- And if anyone is feeling really ambitious, the users manual is here too:
Garden Side
The system for the garden is controlled by a small box on a pillar on the landing of woodshop entrance. This system is digitally controlled.
- The basic set up is that there are 4 different sprinkler heads which can be controlled by two different schedules (A and B).
- The generic setup for day/start time/duration is configurable by selecting the corresponding functin using the main dial and using the up and down arrows.
- Again, if you just need to turn off the system, there is a clear button (marked C) which should stop the water.
- The directions are more difficult to explain for this one and someone already did it. So, the manual can be found here:
