Suzuki Gel Seat

The Suzuki gel seat was available for the 1989-2000 model years. This seat is nicely padded and provides a step to separate the the passenger seat. The exposed seams have been known to leak water, which can leave you with a waterlogged seat. This seat is no longer available from Suzuki, but may occasionally be found for sale used.

Corbin

The easiest upgrade is the replacement of the stock seat with one of the two units from Corbin. It is only available for 1989-2000 model years. The cost is $300.

Top Saddlery

Another option is the Top Saddlery seat. Top Saddlery is based in France, and will do custom stitching and piping. The cost runs from € 300-450.

Other Options

You can order a completely custom seat from outfits like Rich's Custom Seats. Prices start at $400.

Some have reported success with having their seat modified by a custom seat maker to fit them perfectly. For example, check out Sargent Cycles. They will recontour foam, upgrade foam, reupholster, or do gel inserts. Prices start at $75.

Others have reported sucessfully cutting their own seat foam down and adding gel padding, then reupholstering their seat (or reusing the old material).
